Kid Workshop: Woven Valentine’s Cards with Michelle DeAsis (2:30 pm session)

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a card making activity perfect for little hands and big hearts. In this intergenerational workshop, Tlingit artist Michelle DeAsis will teach kids and families how to create a textured woven heart card using traditional paper weaving techniques. Weaving is a great way to develop fine motor skills and persistence while exploring basic art and math concepts. Students can experiment with different colors and patterns to create their own one-of-a-kind Valentine’s Day card or picture for their special Valentine. 

Sessions begin at 1 pm and run every 30 minutes until 3 pm.  

Class registration fees include instruction and materials to weave one heart card. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door with cash or card depending on availability.  

All workshop registrations are final and non-refundable, but you may transfer your spot to another person by notifying us in advance.
